Okay, so, Gavin's caught with the adult magazine full of naked women. And Tim is hugely upset by it. Is he upset that he thinks Gavin is looking at that sort of magazine, is he upset because it's women, or is it that he thinks Gavin's 'looking' at people who aren't him? Or all three.

'Tis a shame 'cause Gavin's shown he really cares about Tim on many occasions, but then with a boyfriend like Gavin, who wouldn't be just slightly worried? I'm sure there are many people who'd happily go for him.. And the same with Tim..

Except that's down to his *own* insecurities. He didn't do it to hurt Tim. They both have *huge* issues with insecurity. But they're so totally in love anyway.

No it's not, hence his problem. And since Gavin also seems insecure about being rejected (hence lying about things he knows will make people angry/upset) and Tim's upset about possibly being rejected (paranoia and over protectiveness and so on), Gavin would know what Tim's reaction is likely to be, not want to hurt him, so lies. Then Tim finds out Gavin's lying, freaks out, and gets upset, and more paranoid, and then Gavin gets more upset that Tim's hurt/that he ruined status quo, and sort of isolates himself in his head, and hides from the problem even more, which makes Tim freak out because Gavin's not communicating with him, etc etc etc. It's really a very vicious cycle of insecurity. But I don't think it goes on *constantly* I think it seems to be more when they're both in a weird sort of mood. .They do break the cycle. But then it's easy to go back into... I actually think that Tim and Gavin have some sort of depression. BUT at the same time, it's not like it'd be a good thing for them to break up to 'fix' this problem, because they're so completely attached, and they do really really go well together *most* of the time.

No, they just freak out because Tim thinks Gavin is dead... and he hasn't told his parents about him.

I think you hit the nail on the head inkling, it's as if they feed off eachother, each fuelling the other's anxiety and yet they need eachother to cope with everything life throws at them.

They definitely do need each other. And it's not like the 'cycle' is *all* the time, often one or another of them is not actually *in* the cycle with the other one. But they often are. But... they really *really* do help each other out a *lot* and really do love each other.
