Gavin goes a bit odd is S5 - well they made him all ambitious which in turn made him a little horrible. Saying that, he's Gavin and always adorable.

yeah, i remember him going weird in series 5... and Tim turning a bit bitchy. It was when the writers swapped wasn't it. grrr. But my gosh series 4 has some gorgeous gavin and tim stuff! And lovely laura/gordon!

I've just started with series 6 - the first without the irreplacable Laura and the debut of the useless Mrs Bidmead (yawn)...

Gee I wonder why that is? She was the actress with no perceptible talent for comedy, whose character ran the sauna. The only joy to be gained from her inclusion was the reaction of other characters to her (everyone hated her, except for Mrs. Brittas, which doesn't say very much)...

ohhhh... i remember something about the sauna becoming more prominent in the story lines later on, but nothing much about that character. Was she sort of tarty?

Just leggy and vacuous! She only held onto the tender for the sauna for one season before they let other people ie Helen get their mits on it.

Uh huh, leggy and vacuous is it. It's a real shame more thought didn't go into replacing Laura, whose character was really very important to the structure of the serious (her role as straightman/anchor in reality)... Having just watched the entire series over the last couple of weeks her absense is particularly noticeable in series 6 and more so in series 7...

yeah I agree!!
Its such a shame she left! Brittas Empire was still good but not AS good as when Laura was around. There were only 2 series without her I think and its such a shame!
Yes Mrs Bidmead was awful

i HATED mrs bidmead (bidmean more like) she was so horrible to brittas, and no one, but gavin to begin with, liked her, ok mr brittas isn't that great but its not THAT bad. Laura should come back, she was brilliant, and OBVIOUSLY loved mr brittas (deffinately s3-4, maybe a bit in 5 too... but he loved her then too lol)

Mrs Bidmead got on my nerves. She kept sticking her nose in and for ie, when brittas set up that 'is this you' competition, she just bugged me the way she reacted lol.... can you tell i dont like new characters in shows?
