Hi everyone...I hope this is the right place to ask this. Anyway, I'd like to buy the Brittas Empire DVDs, and I'm wondering if it was ever released in NTSC format? I found it listed as NTSC on Amazon.com, but there's only one used copy being sold and the format could be listed wrong anyway. I don't mind getting the PAL version, since I can just watch it on my computer...but it would be nice to get NTSC if it's available. Also, does anyone know if the complete set seen here has all the extras that are on the individual DVDs? Thanks!

I can't help you with the dvd formats. I've found that usually, britcom stuff that's being sold on british sites, need a multiregion dvd player. I think. But they work in Australia for some reason. Sorry about that. I'm pretty sure that the complete set has all the extras on the individual dvds, but I don't think it has any extra extras.

OK, thanks for the help! I seem to miss out on a lot of things I like because I live in North America...lol. I'll probably just end up getting the PAL format...I've got a bunch of PAL DVDs already anyway so what the heck! One day I'll get a multiregion DVD player so I won't be stuck watching them on my computer.

Yeah, it's very annoying. But I guess there's just not the demand in the US for these dvds. It's annoying because I have friends in the US I'd love to show some British things. Multiregion dvd player is the way to go, but at least you can watch them on your computer! Better than nothing.

Yup, better than nothing! I might even be able to convert them to NTSC...with a DVD burning program type thing...as long as the DVDs aren't copy protected. I'll see how it goes!

I've not seen any NTSC versions on my random searches, but maybe you could try ebay?

another idea is to go to www.btjunkie.org and download the AVI files which will then convert to dvd files using a program like Nero I got the first five series that way and only have to buy series 6 and 7 dvd's lol

Well, I actually downloaded the first series because I wanted to see what the show was like...but I just like to have the real thing. Besides, it's taking too long to download.

I think it's probably a good idea to have 'tester' episodes like that anyway. I mean, most of us saw it on tv for free before we bought it.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Anyway, I ordered the DVDs from Amazon on Thursday and they came on Tuesday. That was quick! They work fine on my computer. Eventually I'll see if I can convert them so I can play them on TV as well.

Oh, that's a good deal! I bought the entire set together...it's a lot cheaper that way. When it came I was surprised at how small the package was...it's very compact!
