Hi everyone! New member here! I'm 18 years old and I live in the U.S and I'm completely and utterly in love with the Brittas Empire. I've been watching it for three years now on PBS(they play it every saturday night!!!). I'm a HUGE Tim/Gavin shipper...like I REALLY love them. I recently posted my first TBE first and would love reviews! www.fanfiction.net/s/3754469/1/Truce I promise there's loads more to come! I really look forward to meeting you all! Catherine~

*sigh* my brother came in to watch something so I didn't get to read it when I said I would. If you want proofreading though, there's several people who can volunteer.

I've been in a grumpy mood for a few days, so tonight I put on my Brittas DVDs. This prog just makes me feel happy, whatever else is going on! I love it, even after all these years.
It's great to know there are all you guys out there enjoying it too.
xx

Hi Everyone: Sorry I'm such a latecomer to this site. I consider "The Brittas Empire" at least equal to, if not better than, the somewhat over-rated "Fawlty Towers" , and I have several reasons for feeling this way. I chose "Fawlty Towers" as a comparison because the two shows are similiar in many ways, but I easily choose "Brittas" as one of my top 3 or 4 Britcoms ever.
I should mention that in 1999 I wrote a book called "Best of the Britcoms: From Fawlty Towers to Absolutely Fabulous", published in the U.S. for American fans of British sitcoms. In the book, I celebrate 50 of the finest British sitcoms to air in the U.S. since the mid-1970s--one chapter per show. In my chapter on "The Brittas Empire", I praise the comic brilliance of its writing, directing, and acting. I had hoped to interview Chris Barrie for the book, but that didn't work out. However, I did have a long a very pleasant talk with Julia St. John, who was wonderful! I had a mean crush on her anyway, so even though I was professional as an interviewer, my heart was going pitter-pat the whole time. I also interviewed co-writer Andrew Norriss, who was also very pleasant and informative.
My book is still in print, but I'm not here to advertise it. I just wanted to add my voice to the many who love the show! I think I'll go put on an episode as soon as I log off!
More from me later...

^ you wrote that? I've read that! I remember that I was so surprised that it praised the Brittas Empire so highly, when most books dismiss it as slightly embarrassing, or ignore it all together. So I was excited to find a book that didn't. And, better late than never!
