A friend and I have been going through the Brittas Empire episodes. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who heard that twins run in brittas's line and went 'um... isn't that impossible?' especially since it's not like Gordon and his twin are identical... But anyway it's a lot of fun watching it with someone for once!

How do you mean impossible? I hear twins tend to skip a generation though.

I guess it's pretty unlikely, but then a lot of things in Brittas wouldn't make much sense in real life. I still can't play my DVDs on the TV...if I could it would be easier to watch them with other people. I keep trying to get my brother to watch them...lol.

Whoops I posted this in the wrong section.
Well, it's impossible because think how twins work. If they're non identical twins, ie fraternal, that means that it was the MOTHER'S 'fault', because she must have released two eggs that were then fertilised.
Gordon and his brother are not identical. That means that the comment about how 'twins run in Gordon's line' doesn't make sense. It could run in his *mother's* line, leading to the female line in his family producing twins for 'four generations' as Helen said.
That wouldn't make it so that Helen or Carole have twins.
And if it's in the male line, it'd make it so that they're identical (ie something being in the sperm that causes a divide just after conception), which would mean that Gordon and his brother would have been.
Unless it's running in *both* lines. Which i guess could happen.
