Well I've just watched the whole of series 7 and I have to say that I don't think the ending is as bad as what its made out to be.
I too don't want to believe that the whole thing was supposed to just have been a dream but that might not be the case.
The bit on the train could have also been a dream, just like the Noah's Ark bit and therefore all the rest of it could have been real.
Who knows what the writers were thinking? When you first see it, you assume that it was all a dream but that might not have been what the writers were thinking. I think they left it open for people to interpret it as they wanted to.
It's such a crazy sitcom that anything could be possible.
Whatever the case I think it was a clever ending.
Also, on the series as a whole, it's great! I loved it, so funny, lol.
I bought it off ebay last week and it arrived on Thursday but I've only just finished watching the second dvd because we've had a lot of new DVDs recently so we've been watching them as well.
I don't have any of the other series, thats my first one and I've only seen random episodes from other series but now I've seen a whole series, lol.
I start with the final series instead of the first series, lol.
Definetly one to watch again......and again ;D ;D

I don't like the ending much - mostly because it has tim & Gavin as strangers. But I tend to think of it this way - that the stuff on the train is the dream & the rest is reality. That way in your head you can add so many more episodes...... Glad you're getting to watch them all - series 2 & 4 remain my favourites. Enjoy!

The stuff on the train is a dream and the rest is reality.... I like that idea alot! I still live in hope that an episode will be brought out with Brittas now somehow heading up the London Olympics, maybe bringing back his team to help, all his usual disasters on a global scale! Maybe I'll just have to get the pen and paper out and start a fan fic!

That made me laugh - I love the idea of Brittas in charge of the London Olympics!

Thanks, I have been toying with the thought of Brittas creating havoc at the Olympics for a while now, I think I'm going to have to put my ideas down on paper lol Also Crazyfrog, I hope you get to watch the other series soon, i bought the 1-7 series dvd box set it was a great investment!!

I suppose most folk thought there'd never be another Red Dwarf - now that's happened, maybe people will remember Brittas & think - Ooo, that needs reviving? (I know, I don't live in the real world). But if the Olympics couldn't bring him back, nothing will - I just love the idea.

I live in hope that Brittas will be revived (so don't worry I don't live in the real world either). I'm slowly playing Brittas senaro's in my head - he'd cause armageddon if left in charge of the Olympics!! As a burgeoning writer I think I will have to do something with this... it'll prob take a few weeks as would like to give it the thought the programme deserves I'll pop it up in the fan fic section when done. Thanks for the encouragement Sev29!
But this got me wondering what other episodes would people like to see if the programme were to be revived??

I suppose that's why Brittas was cancelled in the first place - because there wasn't really much they hadn't done before. Hmmm, what about having the staff of Whitbury entered into some sort of team of the year competition against another (?Aldershot?) leisure centre. Brittas would be soooo desperate to win. Don't know - I'm rubbish at ideas.

I really don't like the ending and I choose not to believe it as well.
