I was happy to see that "Wendy" who was that woman in series 3, who was one of the people who came from the other leisure centre for a bit of Brittas Tourism, was Lucy Briers, who was "Mary" in the BBC Pride and Prejudice miniseries! She's great.

Lucy was also in 'Holoship' in Red Dwarf, as Harrison.
There are quite a few crossovers from Brittas and Red Dwarf. Another I've noticed is;
In the series 4 outtakes, Chris refers to Harry the Lighting Man as 'The Prince of Darkness' - the nickname for the Pomph (Lighting man who never lit Danny) in Red Dwarf.

nah it's not a stupid question. She's a minor extra. In... what was it called. Two Little Boys I think, when Gordon's twin came to stay. And there's the other centre who are there on their staff outing with the 'eye spy brittas' books. One of the other leisure centre's staff was "Wendy".

I hated the Mary of that version...yes, she was supposed to be plain and pious but not completely undesirable...the piano playing took it a bit far, I think. She did manage to get married (to a very sensible man ) in the novel, after all. Can't imagine anyone wanting to marry that Mary. Then again, I'm just a little bit bitter when it comes to that particular series. I'll never forgive them for what they did to Anna Chancellor. Feathered tubans and orange dresses, indeed.

Come up with a theory and I'll tell you what I think of it.
It's a two-way street.
