OK... Here is a stab at a photo of Russell... This was taken at the beginning of this year... Hi Aman Thank you so much for posting the picture of Russell. He is still a very good looking guy, and I am delighted that you have given us a chance to find out more about him. Please give him our love. David

Do you think Russell would ever really work for a man like Brittas?
And here is a question for you, aman.
Where did you get to know Russell from? and how long have you known him?

Sorry - I am back! Just been away from a computer for the last week or so.
I have known Russell for a year or so. Not long but we are very good friends. As for working for someone like Brittas - I don't know!! Depends on circumstance I guess. We can't choose bosses unfortunately!

Hi Aman
The part of Tim called for Russell to portray a fairly openly gay male which Russell played as an ordinary guy that just happened to be gay. This meant a lot to me as most other gay characters on TV at that time played to gay stereotype i.e. camp.
How much of the character of Tim was the creation of the writers and how much input did Russell have to the formation of the character of Tim. Who's idea was it to make him 'normal'?
David
PS hope this isn't getting too heavy

When I met Russell I recognised him but couldn't figure out where from. The penny soon dropped though!!
David - what you say is very true and Russell has had a few people say exactly the same thing to him. I am not sure whether it was Russell or the scriptwriters who decided to make him as "normal" as possible. I think Russell made sure that his portrayal was "normal" from the outset and the writers then carried this on throughout the other series. I am not sure though...
By the way - Russell is really chuffed that people think he hasn't aged!!
Apologies for my random contributions these days. I have started drama college this week so my time has been taken up a bit with that!

Hi Aman
Thank you for answering my question. It was delightful each week watching Russell play a really nice character who everyone knew was gay (except of course for Brittas) and treated him and Gavin as though it was the most natural thing in the world, which of course it is. It was groundbreaking stuff.
I was glad to hear that Russell is chuffed that we do not think he has aged since the series came to an end. He certainly hasn't changed very much and is easily recognisable as the Tim that we knew and loved over the seven series.
Have you asked Russell if you can post any pictures he has from the Brittas Empire? It would be nice to see some behind the scenes pictures from the show.
David

Aman - did you meet him in a leisure centre? (sorry, i couldn't resist)
I know it's been a long time, but would he happen to remember any favourite moments or have any favourite episodes from the series?
Tell Russell it's that cheeky yet heart-melting smile of his that is loved by so many and keeps him looking hot

Or...of course....you could re-word that to be a little less embarrassing for him to hear.
