Hi everyone.
I discovered the board recently and thought I would let you know that I am a good friend of Russell's.
He is alive and well, working in London but no longer as an actor - hoping to return at some point though!
Its great that there are still so many fans of The Brittas Empire out there and Russell is really flattered that there are so many admirers!

Oh wow! Great to see that we've had a bit of recognition! Ah. That's so nice. Thanks.
Welcome to the board!
Now beware the barrage of ladies with Russell-questions.... ;D

Oh wow! Hello, Tim's friend. That is so great to hear. Everyone has really been wondering what has happened to him. Most, if not all of the people on this board think he is absolutley adorable..... even people from as far away as New Zealand....... He's shy? That is so cute. My first question is to ask if he enjoyed working on Brittas Empire and playing the role of Tim? It looked like he had fun in the role and Tim seems to be a favourite character of most everyone here.

Russell loved working on Brittas! Seven years acting work is great going! I have seen some pictures that he took on location and it looks like fun was had by all. He did quite a bit of stage work too. Have never really asked which he preferred though.

Did I call you Tim's friend? I meant Russell's friend... I apologise about that.
How old was he when he began working on Brittas Empire? (hope that is not too personal) Why did he stop acting after Brittas Empire ended?

I've always wanted to see backstage photos! D'ya think he'd ever publish them? You know...on a website or something?

Russell was 27 when he started working on Brittas. After Brittas finished he did a couple of pantos but he was finding he didn't enjoy acting as much so decided to do the part time job he had been doing while he was an actor full time. He has said he would love to get back into it again when the time is right though!
As for photos, I can ask him but I haven't a clue how to put them up here!!

27? Wow. He looked so young during the show, I honestly never would have though he was that age at the time. He was so cute and just got cuter and cuter..... I know some people here could help you get those photos up to the board if you get to. Does Russell still keep in touch with any of the other actors from the show?

Not as far as I am aware. I went to the theatre with him not long ago and we had drinks with Harriet (Carol) but that was because she was in the show we saw.

Did he have any major acting jobs before Brittas or was the role of Tim his first? Has he done much travelling overseas (just to break from Brittas related questions for a moment......)

He had plenty of stage work before Brittas. In Leeds, Colchester and a couple of stints in the West End amongst many others. He appeared in EastEnders very briefly and in Rumpole of the Bailey.

There has been plenty of travel overseas - mostly to do with work though!
