Gavin has his own issues. Tim's the more confident, outgoing, talkative one, secure in his sexuality, but really insecure when it comes to abandonment/love/friendship. And Gavin has problems opening up to people, making friends, and admitting that he's different, but he's a lot more trusting. But... I think most of the time, they complement each other well. They both have lots of positives and negatives that help each other out, even when they clash a bit in certain situations. And I really do have to wonder what happened to both of them in their pasts though, like... to make them how they are. They have issues. And I have friends who have issues like this, I have some problems like this too, so it's nice to see a tv couple where their 'issues' aren't just like 'oh he is sloppy and she is too superior sometimes'.

Yeah I see what you mean... I think Gavin's issues are his parents.
We find out in series 7 that gavins dad is strict and becuase Gavins brother wouldnt follow his dads tradition in joining the army, he was rejected. So I think Gavin fears rejection from people. I think Tim's lack of trust and wariness comes from his dad not being around too.

That could be part of it yeah. But things tend to build up. Anyway. It's great that like, they have some *real* problems, yet... they stay together for so long and love each other and their problems aren't trivialised. Sure they're not perfect. But that's a great thing for characters.

yeah they do. I think that, well... since they keep on getting upset... rather than being upset at the start of episodes, and that there's some space in between episodes, that that implies that most of the time, they're fine. But Gordon really REALLY sets them off. But he ruins everyone's relationships so that's nothing new.

True. Except Tim lashes out when he's upset. He doesn't seem to be able to really help it. He either lashes out, or pretty much collapses. And it's easier to lash out at Gordon. Gavin's a complete worrier too though but in a different way. Tim's paranoid but Gavin notices stuff and worries, quietly, and without telling anyone and you can tell it'd drive him crazy. But the fact that Gavin *punched* Brittas. That's just brilliant. He can take all sorts of abuse personally, but if anything happens to Tim, he's right in there. Like how he didn't care if the guy was trying to kill gordon anymore because of the keep an eye out in the showers/left footer comments.

Yes! I totally think thats cute how Gavin wouldn't react to someone calling him, but if anyone hurts Timmy he'd be straight in there! I want a Gavin
