For all those fan fic writers out there I have made a character timeline for each major character. Each one can be found on the appropriate character forum. I have also made a episode by episode rundown to help make the timelines to make sense (you can find this on The Brittas Empire section. Just a note of warning though: If you are writing fan fic with the info I gave you I may have spelt the odd character (not the main characters) name incorrectly. I have a few problems with my hearing at the mo and it is possible that I may have heard the odd name wrongly. 
Tim Whistler
Series 1
Ep 1 Tim asks Brittas if he can work the same hours as Gavin.
Ep 3 Tim is very upset that Brittas spied Gavin in a pub with another man.
Ep 5 Brittas discusses the fact that Tim used to be a middle distance runner whilst at school. When Brittas questions him about stealing he tells Gavin he wants to pack it in and move back to live with his mother in Cheshire.
Ep 6 Brittas tells Gavin that he has suspicions of Gavin being ‘a bit’ gay but he does not share these suspicions with Tim.
Series 2
Tim is in this series but not central to the main storylines.
Series 3
Ep3 When Carol is sacked by Brittas Tim is the first person to threaten to resign and Brittas tells him that his resignation is accepted. Brittas then asks the rest of the staff if they want to resign and they all put their hands up.
Series 4
Ep2 The Brittas twins have been lost by Helen and Gordon is planning a search party. He tells all the staff where to go to look, Tim requests that he should be sent to Sainsbury’s as he is planning a casserole for later. He returns to the centre with Gavin carrying duvets because they had them on special offer in Debenhams.
Ep3 When Gavin is found with a lads mag and (covering up for Helen) he tells Brittas he wants to look at pictures of women, Tim gets furious and shouts at him.
Ep5 Gavin’s fiancé appears at the centre; Tim is upset that Gavin lied to him. When Brittas tries to consol him thinking that Gavin is just Tim’s friend he cries in his office. Although by end of episode Tim & Gavin drive off home together after Gavin telling Brittas that he isn’t going to marry her.
Series 5
Ep2 Tim is given the role of being Mr Jolly, at a children’s party he really does not enjoy it.
Ep4 Tim is really upset with Gavin because Brittas tells him that Gavin has been on a management course. Gavin had lied about his whereabouts and Tim is upset they end up fighting in the staff room.
Ep5 Gavin is allowed to be manager of the centre for the day and Tim begrudges Gavin for giving him jobs such as tidying the cupboard. Later Tim who is the union rep discusses with the staff strike action as Brittas wants them to do overtime. Laura convinces them that they should go to the meeting as Brittas wants to tell them he’s leaving.
Ep6 Brittas is convinced that Tim is a woman after testing pregnant in faulty drugs test. He floors Tim in an attempt to prove that he is a woman.
Ep8 Tim hopes that Gavin is going to appoint him deputy when he becomes a manager. He spends the ep filling a water tanker which falls through the ceiling flattening Brittas.
1994 Christmas Special
We meet a very successful Tim in 2019. He has written several books, one written about a leisure centre manager who keeps burning down the centre. He is still with Gavin.
Series 6
Ep1 Tim makes it blatantly obvious that he is not happy to see the return of Brittas. Tim gets quite jealous of Gavin who has been making a fuss over Penny. He pushes Gavin into the swimming pool. He then offers to take Carol out to the opera but later changes his mind and goes with Gavin.
Ep2 Tim is quite unhappy about Gavin’s management status and complains bitterly about it and how Gavin has changed.
Ep3 Tim spends the episode nodding off to sleep as he has just come off holiday with Gavin.
Ep4 Tim suffers from anaraknophobia, he’s scared of people in anoraks because he is scared of the grim reaper.
Ep5 Tim discovers that he is the lowest paid member of staff so in protest he takes Gavin, Linda and Colin hostage.
Ep6 Tim runs the canteen. Makes a set menu for £17 very expensive sounding food. He is taken hostage by Linda and her protesters who won’t let him go until the shark is set free.
Ep8 Tim is still squabbling with Gavin. He speaks to Brittas about wanting to get the franchise for the staff canteen.
Series 7
Ep1 Tim tries to make himself ill so that he won’t be able to partake in the bungee jump as he is scared but doesn’t want to tell Gavin.
Ep2 Brittas insisted Tim show him his birth certificate and discovers that Tim’s name is Tim Gerbals. His mother is German and his father not known but used to be a whistler which is why he chose that name. Brittas ignores Tim as he says Tim doesn’t exist which does annoy Tim. Tim has to reapply for his old job using the name Gerbals. He gets the job and is paid more as he is from German descent and is paid from an European budget.
Ep3 Gavin and Tim get a young lad to put a virus into the computer system to stop it working properly due to concern over their jobs. It is Tim who brings up the subject of redundancies to the staff. When they realise their pay is effected by the virus they try to get the boy to mend it but Brittas catches them in the act.
Ep6 In an attempt to teach Gavin a lesson Tim writes him a letter from the record company telling him he owes them £10,000. When he thinks Gavin has killed himself he blames himself. He gets very cross when he meets Gavin’s parents and discovers that Gavin hasn’t told them about him; but is still delighted when Gavin returns in one piece.
1996 Christmas Special
Tim is in panic mode as he was convinced that they are all going to die on their expedition.
