Is this ok?

I would like to write a Tim/Gavin fanfic but I am checking its ok because I want to do a kind of follow up story to Inkling's fanfiction 'Telling'.

I thought I'd better check its ok first because I don't want to intrude on Inkling's story in any way. I sent a pm but Inkling doesn't seem to be on here that often and well, I really want to write it, lol.

So I am asking other people if doing that is ok.

Please reply, the plot bunnies are hopping madly and they won't leave me alone.

I am currently writing some Tim/Gavin fanfiction. I warn you it is extremely fluffy. I intended it to be fluffy but its coming out far fluffier than I intended, lol. ;D

Plenty of upset Tim and Gavin comfort, cos they're so cute

It's wonderful to see new fanfic here on the forum - well done!! It's a pleasure to log on and find such treasures waiting.

I hope no one will mind, or take offence, but I've noticed a few technical writing errors, and I just thought I'd mention a couple of things which will hopefully make the fic easier to read for everyone.

When writing dialogue you ALWAYS need to have a new paragraph for each new person speaking. Two people can never speak in the same paragraph. It makes reading the fic and identifying who is saying what a lot easier - and also stops the reader being confronted with one big block of text, which can be a bit intimidating. It's also customary to change paragraphs if you have thoughts from one character and then from the other - any POV change should pretty much warrant a new para.

Also, when putting a tag on the end of dialogue you just need a comma, or if you're using a question mark or exclamation mark, the tag doesn't need to start with a capital letter.

Example:

"Mr Brittas," said Gavin.

"Mr Brittas!" said Gavin.

I'm not trying to be picky or horrible - just trying to make your fic more appealing to readers.

Oh, and remember, spellchecker and checking for errors is a must

Thanks Elf, you've just cleared something up for me.

I always get confused in dialogue as to whether a capital letter is needed after speech in that sense.

It's called Taking Care, I struggle with titles lol, but that seemed appropriate.

Plenty of fluff again, and although slightly longer than my last one, it's not that long.

I have one other fanfic currently in the pipeline and I'm going to try to go a bit further on that one. It's going to be longer, most probably with chapters and also a little darker, dealing with a darker issue.

Kind of excited about that one at the moment......
