How many times does she go berserk in the whole show? And what were the reasons for it? Is it just because Brittas drives her crazy, or because she actually is really unbalanced?

Trying to crush brittas in his car when she thought he was a ghost trying to re-incarnate himself in Baby Ben at the start of the second series is an excellent example.
I can't remember her going really bezerk in S1 as she was too tearful after her husband leaving and being made homeless.

Yeah, the first episode of Series 2 is one of my faves, with Colin thinking the voice is Brittas' ghost, & then Carole up in that big machine - her big manic eyes & cackling were wonderful!
