Well not quite.
I, as I do, pulled out another Brit Com to watch, Bottom series 1 and low and behold in the very first epiode there she is.
Sitting at the bar, Richie and Eddie try out their new "sex scent" on her. he husband then beats them up for chatting up his wife.
her and Julia are the only actors i have seen in other roles. (don't like red dwarf, never watched Prince among Men or saw Tomb Raider)
Does anyone else remember this episode?

She comes across real sofisticated in that epsiode it's hard to believe it's carole.
I guess it's called acting for that reason

have you watched the special features in the second series dvd? How her normal voice is totally different to Carole's?

YES. it's spooky.
Like in the episode where her baby goes missing. All of a sudden she is talking like that. It's funny. Even Brittas notices

I don't like Bottom all THAT much, but i've taped it and i watch it sometimes. I just don't like people getting poked in the eye etc. *shudder* I prefer The Young Ones.

I honestly thought, before I watched the extras on series 2, that that 'calm voice' was really put on.

Ah, yes, The Young Ones is far superior (Not that I'm a fan of either to be honest.)...
And yessss, her real voice is so different to Carole's... The voice of her... tiger (?) in the last series is hilarious though. (I'm not very well educated in the last series... Only seen it once the whole way through.)

I didn't think Carole was in Bottom. We are planning on watching them again as we want to find a particular line Eddie says and we can't remember exactly where is.
Carole has also appeared a few times in Absolutely Fabulous as the cosmetics columnist in the magazine Patsy 'works' for. She has also appeared in the Merchant Ivory film 'Maurice', which is based on the book by EM Forster about homosexuality in Edwardian Britain (pre WW1). The film stars James Wilby, Hugh Grant and Rupert Graves. Excellent film, very close to the book, and you get to see Jame and Rupert naked.
