For all those fan fic writers out there I have made a character timeline for each major character. Each one can be found on the appropriate character forum. I have also made a episode by episode rundown to help make the timelines to make sense (you can find this on The Brittas Empire section. Just a note of warning though: If you are writing fan fic with the info I gave you I may have spelt the odd character (not the main characters) name incorrectly. I have a few problems with my hearing at the mo and it is possible that I may have heard the odd name wrongly. 
Laura Lancing
Series 1
Ep1 We meet Laura Lancing as deputy manager. She quickly learns what Brittas is like.
Ep2 She is already looking for the positives in Brittas although does get cross with him when they get stuck in the centre.
Ep5 Laura seems rather concerned when the centre is closed for the 4th time in a month and when Brittas hides in a locker in the changing room.
Ep6 At Gordon Brittas hospital bedside she tells Helen that she¡¦d miss Brittas if he wasn¡¦t there. She says that even though he was annoying and he annoyed her a lot she liked him because he had no malice. She says he cares about the centre and the people in it and tries and he has a dream.
Series 2
Ep1 When Brittas is thought to be dead Laura is told to take over the centre which she does using a far more relaxed approach to the rules.
Ep3 During the inspection Laura talks the staff out of giving Brittas a bad report to the inspector. She tells them that she refuses to kick him when he¡¦s down as she is under the assumption that his wife is about to leave him and get the sack.
Ep4 Laura tries to teach Brittas that he doesn¡¦t listen to what people are trying to tell him. She tries to explain that Helen didn¡¦t want a moped for her birthday even though she said it¡¦s fine.
Ep7 After Helen wonders whether Brittas is Carol¡¦s baby¡¦s father she confides her concerns with Laura.
Series 3
Ep 5 Its Laura¡¦s birthday and her husband appears. He tries to act as if he remembered her birthday and gives her a pot plant bought from the centre gardener. Her husband, Michael Farrell the third wants her to have his child as if she doesn¡¦t have one he will loose out on his inheritance. He says that if she has the baby she doesn¡¦t have to live with him and can see who she wants. He also points out that she wanted a baby with him. She told him that they haven¡¦t been together for 2 and a half years. She also tells him that Brittas quickly discovered that he was a liar and a cheat and uses his money to get what he wants but it took her a year and a half to discover it. Later Laura gets frustrated with Brittas and shouts at him before giving him a kiss. Brittas then asks Helen if she thinks Laura is in love with him, she laughs and says no.
Series 4
Ep4 Laura takes Helen¡¦s place and joins Brittas for a meal after convincing a visiting hypnotist to make him normal for an evening (she said she always had a fantasy to see what it would be like if he was different). They have a good evening and just before the clock strikes midnight she gives him a quick kiss and dashes out of the restaurant to watch from the window become himself again and pick an argument with the waiter.
Ep6 Rumours fly around the centre about the relationship between Laura and Brittas because Brittas spent time round her house doing the gardening. Her husband turns up saying his father has stopped his money and if he is going to be poor he wants to be poor with Laura. Laura takes him back and tells Brittas she has took him back because she loves him.
Series 5
Ep1 Councillor Druggit asks Laura to show Brittas an advert for a European Commissioner for leisure. She refuses saying that she¡¦s his friend and doesn¡¦t want to go behind his back. But after a disaster during the filming of Songs of praise with an emu; 56 people are injured and Brittas says he will be at the centre for another 20years she lets him find out about the job.
Ep4 Laura is very impressed when she discovers that her husband has been trying to get a job and has applied at the centre because he wants to see more of his wife. Laura informs him that he will see more of her because she is pregnant.
Ep7 Laura gets cross with Helen when she wants Laura to tell Brittas she is going to stay in the UK. Later we catch Brittas dreaming of Laura telling him that she loves him, has always loved him but they both can¡¦t do anything about it as they are married and then she goes and kisses him before he wakes up. Brittas tells Laura that the centre is hers that he is handing the centre to her. She tells Brittas that she can¡¦t accept the job as she is pregnant and leaving in five weeks to have the baby in America. She is going to have the baby there because Michael and Michael¡¦s father want her to have the baby in the states.
Ep8 Laura discovers that Carol has knocked down walls to make the cupboard bigger for her children. She also discovers a water tank is being filled above the reception area. She races to try and stop it being filled but fails and it falls through flattening Brittas.
1994 Christmas Special
Laura¡¦s final episode ƒ¼ We meet Laura in 2019 who is being driven to the party by her son Barney, who we find out is at University with Carol¡¦s twins. She has travelled there from Chicago and says she goes to the party to thank Brittas as she is grateful to Brittas to making her more tolerant.
