I don't have any fresh info, but I have a sort of acquaintance who collects panto memorabilia, including theatre programmes. Anyhow, after being thoroughly teased after admitting to being a Brittas Empire fan, he has agreed to keep an eye out for any mention of Russell.
Can't promise anything, as he's not got the most reliable memory, but worth a shot I thought.

Although, if anyone does have a theatre name (or indeed the name of the panto), then that would help.

Oooo, now that may help. I'm assuming (don't know why really,as I've never read anything to say that) that it'd be somewhere down south. I only know that Tim Marriott did a fair few pantos, so maybe all the cast did them most years....? I quick internet dig shows Colin in panto in Swansea in 1996/7, without Russell, but never the less I shall keep searching.

I was given a panto message boards site address by my friend, & on an off chance posted a request for any info on our Russell, & guess what, I got 2 replies!

Apparently he did 2 Aladins (sadly I don't know who he played, but it's a start), one in York & one at Redhill, & Beauty & the Beast at Worthing. I'll post a link for my message (I'm Maureen - tried to think of a suitably panto name!) & the replies at the bottom - one reply includes a link to the Worthing one, which verifies it!
Do you know, I'm quite giddy at finding something out.

Hey, hey - I've just checked it again & the lovely "Mark" has filled in more details. He was a character called Sweety Peety in Beauty & the Beast. How cute is that?! Also Timmyrocks, you were right - Mike Burns was indeed in the same Aladdin as Russell. I've asked if they have dates, so I'll keep you posted! Also, if any one has problems with the link, let me know & I'll just retype the info from there to here.
