I heard Russell appeared in Pantomime back in the 90s. Did anyone go and see this? If so, who did he play and what was it like?

I've read that somewhere too, but sadly no I didn't. If he was you think there'd be something on the 'net about it, I'll have a look next time I have a spare moment.

Yeah, I agree. Does anyone know what theatre it was in?

I don't have any fresh info, but I have a sort of acquaintance who collects panto memorabilia, including theatre programmes. Anyhow, after being thoroughly teased after admitting to being a Brittas Empire fan, he has agreed to keep an eye out for any mention of Russell. Can't promise anything, as he's not got the most reliable memory, but worth a shot I thought.
Although, if anyone does have a theatre name (or indeed the name of the panto), then that would help.

I'll see if I can find something... but I *think* it was 1997 and Colin was in it too. Though, I'm sure Russell Porter did two.

Oooo, now that may help. I'm assuming (don't know why really,as I've never read anything to say that) that it'd be somewhere down south. I only know that Tim Marriott did a fair few pantos, so maybe all the cast did them most years....? If you have any more ideas, or vague inklings before the weekend, let me know as that's when I'll be harrassing my panto-mad person!
I quick internet dig shows Colin in panto in Swansea in 1996/7, without Russell, but never the less I shall keep searching.

Okay. I'm pretty sure it was 1997. But I think he did an earlier one too... maybe 1995. I'll see if I can find out anything else. ;D
The others have done pantomime I think. I'm sure Linda did some.

You are going to love me for this. I HAVE INFORMATION! I was given a panto message boards site address by my friend, & on an off chance posted a request for any info on our Russell, & guess what, I got 2 replies! Apparently he did 2 Aladins (sadly I don't know who he played, but it's a start), one in York & one at Redhill, & Beauty & the Beast at Worthing. I'll post a link for my message (I'm Maureen - tried to think of a suitably panto name!) & the replies at the bottom - one reply includes a link to the Worthing one, which verifies it! Do you know, I'm quite giddy at finding something out. Enjoy. Hopefully this is just the beginning - what I really want is pictures of him in panto! members2.boardhost.com/ITSBEHINDYOU/msg/1220902808.htmlYou will need to click on their replies to see them - I couldn't find a screen that showed both question & answer. Hey, hey - I've just checked it again & the lovely "Mark" has filled in more details. He was a character called Sweety Peety in Beauty & the Beast. How cute is that?! Also Timmyrocks, you were right - Mike Burns was indeed in the same Aladdin as Russell. I've asked if they have dates, so I'll keep you posted! Also, if any one has problems with the link, let me know & I'll just retype the info from there to here.
