With the ending of Brittas not being incredibly popular with fans - I think we all hate the idea that everything supposedly didn't happen - so I was thinking of ideas that they could have ended on. Any thoughts?
I think they could have finished it, maybe, where they all move on in their lives and Brittas is still at his centre - not a great one I know, but it kind of coincides where we see them all in the year 2019. At least then, it would give a more clear way for producers to bring the show back if it ever was brought back.

I always like to think that the bang on the head Brittas gets at the end makes him dream that he hadn't been for the interview yet, rather than the other way round. The Christmas special after series 5 does end it really nicely, but I still prefer the extra 2 series regardless of the bad ending. If I could make my own ending, I'd make the whole team move on - and have them thinking they were all going to fantastic new different jobs, then on their first day at work, they'd discover they were all working together again, and the new boss would walk in with a very familiar face....... In my world the Brittas team stays together forever.

In my world the Brittas team stays together forever. ^I like to think that too! I really want them to bring it back for more episodes (I know, 52 isn't quite enough for me!) even if it might be a bad idea, I just want to know what happened to them in the future. Nice idea - that would coincide with the 'In the Beginning' episode: Colin owning a castle in Scotland, Laura with her son Barney, Tim and Gavin still together, etc. And of course, Sir Gordon and Lady Brittas!

I also believe that the ending was just Brittas dreaming it was a dream. He got hit on the head then dreamt he was on Colin's Ark with everyone, then it moved to the train on his way to the interview, and everyone was there, I choose to look at this bit being a dream and the series being reality.

Also, the Christmas special "Surviving Christmas" I believe came out after the 'dream' ending, so he must have just been dreaming it was a dream.

hi everyone! i'm not sure if people are still discussing this stuff, I've only just joined this website, so here goes...I personally liked fegan and norris's ending of series 5....they should've just left it there. Series 6 & 7 were not bad, but they were a bit stupid and didn't feel that real. The show wasn't as good when fergan and norris left...and julia st john...she was kind of the level headed character the plot really needed to redress the balance.
