Possible New Christmas Special

Is anyone out there as excited (& slightly scared!) about the prospect of a new Christmas special? Can't work out how to put a link here as I'm using my phone, but there's plenty of articles on the net. Chris Barrie returns as Gordon Brittas!!!!!!

Hello! Arrgh, I am really new and there is noone else here.

I know what you mean, I am interested in seeing how it turns out but am also wondering what it will be like. I hope they have at least some of the original cast back, and that it has the same sort of feel to it.

One thing that bothers me a bit is that it is being made by the BBC, which I know sounds daft seeing as the BBC made it originally, but what I mean is, the programs the BBC makes are not the same as they were 20 years ago, for whatever reason. I think I read that the BBC weren't interested in redoing Red Dwarf, which went to Dave, which makes me wonder why the BBC didn't want it and yet decided to make Brittas. Maybe the BBC realised they missed a trick and decided differently this time. I dunno. I suppose it is hard to know without knowing what was discussed in their meetings and so on.

It's weird because until earlier this year I actually hadn't seen The Brittas Empire since it was on originally in the 90s (I only have Freeview).
I discovered it again after watching some old sitcoms on the Drama channel. I had started thinking about other sitcoms I used to watch and really wanted to see it again. 
It is quite strange that I had not seen or heard anything about it for almost 20 years, and then when I happen to find it again it suddenly turns out they might make a new episode. Weird timing.

I really miss all the sitcoms they used to have on back in the 80s and 90s, they just don't make anything like them anymore. I don't really watch a massive amount of current TV, it just isn't the same as it used to be. I sound old but I am only in my 30s lol. I have a feeling there are probably a lot of other people out there that feel the same way.

I am so excited!!!!! I LOVE Chris Barrie and Harriet Thorpe both my idols and inspiration it is about time they brought back this classic although I am a little bit nervous that it isn't going to be the same as the original but I am mostly excited Ahhh I can't wait

Seems like the trail has gone cold on a return, what a crying shame. I would seriously LOVE it if another episode or one off show was commissioned!
