Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but why is Julie actually in the flashback to the opening Christmas of the centre? I could buy that she was a temp covering for the original secretary Angie during that episode and that she returned full time to the job in S2, but what does anyone else think about this?

Julie was there by New Year's apparently, because it was her party that Carole got pregnant at.

So she and Angie must have both been working there? I could maybe buy that the entire 1st series only took place in a few weeks, but Julie was still there in the flashbacks which were supposed to be just after the opening. Maybe we all imagined Angie!

i've been trying to work it out. It's one of those incontinuities i think. What time of year did the centre open? I think winter seeing as they were getting cold when the doors opened. So, maybe Angie quit straight after the end of the first series, Julie came in, and invited all her workmates to her new year's party.
(though, Carole in the last episode of the first series was thinking she was pregnant and trying to ring the guy, and he was on his honeymoon. But maybe it actually was a mistake like she said it might be, and she wasn't pregnant. Because it couldn't have been the same guy, because Julie wasn't there yet. Unless, they all knew Julie before she came to work there or something)

Does Carole only get pregnant at parties then? I've just watched "Curse of the Tiger Women" and the centre opened on the 22nd, annoyingly no month mentioned! I'm gonna go right back to the start and make the contnuity work! The continuity *must* work or else I will malfunction and die!

That is my all time worst episode ever of all time.
I hate it. Not just because of the crappiness of the 'imaginary friend', but because the writers turn Carole into Laura.
Sacriledge.

I notice one of the children is called Laura in that episode. Was that the best they could do to represent her 5 years with the show? Hopeless! And what was it with series 7 episodes having massively out of character moments which are never resolved before the credits roll?

What is it with Series 7's!?
Brittas 7 = Crap. Red Dwarf 7 = Crap. [With two exceptions]
Lucky for everyone except very good sitcoms involving Chris Barrie.

Too true! After Carole's plot to rule the leisure centre and Gavin's 'death' with neither plot properly resolved, and the poor introduction to Kochanski (she was great in S8) and whiny version of Kryten, series 7s are the bane of my life! Just think if "Prince Among Men" had run that long!

Series 7's never seem to work out. Brittas writers decided to run ridiculous storylines [Even though the whole series was supposed to be silly, some of them were just too far-fetched.] and RD writers felt they 'had' to have a replacement for Rimmer. Nobody could replace him, and that's not my Rimmer!Fangirl speaking. You liked S8 Kochanski? Whoa. *Anti-Kochanski flag flies*
Oh, how hideously off-topic. *Slaps wrists*

I don't care what anyone says; I love VII and VIII. Purely because I grew up with them.

I'm a secret [Or not so secret] RD S8 fangirl.. I think after the "GUH!"-ness of S7, the characters were better. Or what have you. I loved S8 Kryten. Wasn't mad for Rimmer, or Kochanski... But the others were good. Except Birdman. Oh my lord, Birdman.
Anyway, how did we get onto this? Isn't this about Julie? Le'ts get back to Julie.

I'm actually happy to overlook the possible hideous continuity error in this, purely because Julie is class.
And I'm a secret Red Dwarf series 7 fangirl. S8 I don't mind either.
