Hey guys.
What's happened?
This place used to be a busy board where it was kind of difficult to keep up with the new threads and posts every day! But now it seems to have died once again, and it's horrible to see! When the board was first here, there were only a few members, and it was busier then than it is now!
Fair enough, it did have its quiet spell(s), but then we got loads and loads of new people, who started up discussions and the board was bursting at the seams once again!
Now look at it, the poor thing... Is it just because all of the DVDs are out now, nobody gets excited or interested in it anymore (For want of better words)? Is it due to real life? If that's the case, then fair enough, but I have a feeling that that doesn't ring true for everybody...
Or is there a problem that's causing members to not come back or not to post? Please, please let me know if there's a problem, by IM or replying here (whichever you prefer). You can also IM the other mod, Xylona, and of course, TheManager, our admin, but we have to respect that TM is very busy and doesn't get much time, which is a terrible shame because she runs the board so well!
I'm serious guys, I don't want this board to die, and I'm sure that most of you feel the same. So, any problems, complaints, suggestions, ideas... IM one of us, reply here, whatever you want.
Let's get our dear TBE BBS up and running to full capacity again!

SOMETHING.
*felt the need to post something, and did*
I like the way the above adverts reckon you can 'Send Cows Gifts'. Because bovines need presents too.

yeah i know what you mean. I was trying to post new topics... But they didn't really seem to work. I'm still interested, AND i think that once they come out properly in Australia, we'll have another burst of new members. I loved it when it was active. I don't mind if we rehash the same conversations over and over in different ways, because it'll always mean something new!

hey have you checked out the proboards support forums? They have all sorts of cool ideas for getting new members/making a good community/keeping people interested!

I've found that I've had less time to visit here since I was made a moderator, and that's not good. I've been trying my hardest to get here as much as poss, basically to check up on the place.
Most convos re: Brittas have sorta dried up now, cos I can't see anything else new coming out.
But I do agree, we should try our hardest to get this place running properly again, it took so long to get the amount of members we have now (I was like the 5th member) and it really is a fantastic board. If anybody does have any problems with the way the board is going at the moment, please don't hesistate to IM either me or Totoffle, we'll be happy to help. Anything seriously.
Cheers
Xylona

I usually check when on line, but more often than not I seem to kill threads (or at least it feels like it). That hasn't stopped me posting though!!

I think one problem is, is that people are afraid to 'rehash' a topic of conversation.

Well they shouldn't be, there's so many old topics here that should be revived No, I do understand that, I'm the same. But if you see a topic that looks good, post there and we'll probably all follow

but the thing is right, i'm fairly new to Brittas. I'm always thinking of things i want to say. But then i think 'oh, but they've probably already talked about that amongst themselves'. And, I know lots of other forums where if you say something that people have already been thinking htemselves, they think 'oh, i've already had that conversation. stupid newbie, as if they hadn't already known that' or 'meh, already had that discussion, how boring'. But i think that if you're a real fan, you can find new things ALL the time. I mean i'm still a fan of a show that i've loved since 99 and have watched for years, (and no, it's not still going, and the actors are pretty boring, ie, they didn't do much else) and i'm STILL finding new things to talk about. But even the old things with a new person are interesting.

It doesn't matter if it's been discussed before, personally, I don't mind repeated conversations, especially with the way the board has been of late. If you want to talk about something, either bump up a topic, or start a new one. I ain't gonna lock the topic or anything, any discussion is welcome at the moment

My point of view with this board is, if you think of something Brittas-ish, then post away, nobody will have a go at you or flame you for posting it if it's already been done. If it has we might point you in the direction of the older post, just to keep things tidy, not to embarrass you or make you feel like we don't respect your feelings or aren't interested in what you have to say! Post away, we don't mind at all, and in fact, it help would boost it back to where it used to be. I mean, we're talking about a show which is more or less a cult one, but there's still a million and one things to talk about! I've been on this board longer than most, and when I look at some of the stuff you guys come up with, it's mostly new to me! Different people spot different things, which is all well and good, but it's also good when more than one person notices something, because then you don't feel so weird/odd/obsessive for thinking it! Did that make any sense at all? I mean, any? My brain is... not sober Which is just a nice way of saying that I'm tipsy.

I bet it does make sense, I'm just too drunk to read it all.

Oh Inkling; we don't mind you coming up with stuff that may or may not have been mulled over once or twice before...its interesting to get different perspectives from new and different people. ...it's the mindless pap like 'Tim n Gav r hot. N thats da end of it!' and 'chris barrie hot'. Xy - I hope you like my reference...
