gavin's age

right.. im very confused about gavin's age ok, in series 4 he says he was 19 when he was purposed to jenny and then says that was 5 years ago (or jenny says it was 5 yr 7 months 14 day ago or summit lol) but then julie says in series 7 when he "dies" that hes 36, to my knowledge theres only 3 years between series 4 and 7, i guess theres some in consistancy with the brittas writers am i correct

chh yeah. i hate this. I go with the Jenny related age, myself. I think the 36 thing was either the writers being stupid again or some sort of mistake in general...
the Jenny age implies he's 24 in series 4, so, in the first episodes he was like, 21. (since the first two series were in a year)
The 36 one makes no sense whatsover in my opinion.

yeah i think... sod it, i cant think lol, a weird swirly thing from space is the only explaination of all of that lol, personally i think he was much older than that say 27 or summit at the beginning otherwise tim wouldnt have been replyed to as young tim all the time (i'm guessing he was no more that 20 in series 1) so i personally want to go with the second age, cos the jenny age is just too young (in my eyes)

Nah, I don't think Gavin was supposed to be THAT much older than Tim. Certainly not 7 years older than him. 4 or 5 years older than him, perhaps. And 'young tim' is just Brittas being stupid! Yes, Tim's young. But Gavin's not old.
(though, Gavins actor was not like, 24 at the time. But we'll just ignore that aspect hey... )

^ that's what I think too. The actors are much older than the characters though. Which is why it's confusing.

yeah! I didn't think Russell looked much older than what he was meant to play tho, but towards the end, Gavin, in his management role started to look older.

yeah i dont think russell was much older than 21 when he started *he really didn't look much older, but i could be wrong* i recon in real life tim marriot is say a couple of year younger than chris

quite possible... although he could have got away with a couple years older than Tim in the beginning I think, in the first episode he did look quite young... like early twenties.

mm, i thought mid to later twenties actaully, but then again, me and guessing ages is never that good

he was like, at least 25 when he first did Tim. And when Tim Marriott did Gavin he'd have to be older than that. But, there was no way the characters were that old. Which is why I think the characters were perhaps Tim being 19/20 or so at the start of the show, and Gavin being not too much older actually. I worked it out, sort of anyway, as much as i could, for a fanfic. I'm just basing that on things they said, and 'young Tim' and so on, even though Brittas isn't implying that Gavin's old by that comment, it's more because Tim has to be one of the youngest staff members there with the possible exception of Linda.

Yeah I think Brittas refferred to 'Tim' as young Tim was cuz he was youngest but not cuz he was a kid lol. I think he was young than Linda and I think Linda was yonger than Gavin.

yeah i reckon Tim and Linda are around the same age though. And I don't think Gavin's like... heaps older than him. Five years tops I reckon. That's the characters, not the actors. Especially if you look at what his age is supposed to be with the whole Jenny business. He was supposed to be 19 when he got engaged, and now it's however many years later (mental blank, can't be bothered checking right now) and... I don't *think* Gavin would completely cradle rob or something, or that Tim's like, 17 at the start of the show... I'd be imagining 19 to 21 years old at the start of the show. Which doesn't make Gavin all that much older than him at all.

yeah your probally right, actually thinking about it, tim probably was abot 17/18 (looks about the same age as most of my mates who are that age) i guess gavin then was about 21, lol
