Just to get the ball rolling... I've been a BIG (We are talking... Well. Massive) Chris Barrie fan since about Easter '04 now... I first discovered him on Red Dwarf, and then I was told about his other great show, The Brittas Empire. At first, I just watched it for him (And sometimes, I still do... But only during short-wearing scenes) but I've grown fond of all the characters now, and like Brittas, I care if Carole has problems or if Colin's bladder is acting up. The comedy is spot on, and the situations are so silly, they're almost believeable. I have to say though, I'm probably the only one, but if I lived in Whittbury, I would have to join the Leisure Centre! (And not JUST because of the miniscule uniforms worn.) So, that's why I love Brittas... What about the new members that are going to signed up within 10 minutes of me posting this? *Crosses fingers*

I've been a Brittas fan since it started really. I just think that it's wonderfull. It's tremendously funny and incredibly well written. The characters are all wonderfull each believable in their own unique way and and each so different that you can really feel for them. It has a great ballence of humour in it that not only makes you laugh but cry to. The situations can be so far out and bizare that you can really imagine them happening somewhere to some poor soul! In know it can sometimes seem that I only watch it because I have a thing for men in tight shorts, but I can assure you that I genuinely love this programe and one day would love to thank everyone involved in it for making it what it is....Superb, wonderfully funny and a real pleasure to watch! Roll on the DVD releases I say! I can't get enough of it!

Hello everyone I started off as a Red Dwarf fan and followed Chris Barrie across to Brittas Empire when it started. I am one of those people who dreams about Brittas Empire / Red Dwarf etc and my favorite episodes, and drives every one else mad by watching entire series in one sitting, talking non stop about it, and generally being an expert in residence Been searching the internet for a long, long time for a good Brittas Empire site. Finaly stumbled into the Chris Barrie BBS (EzBoard) site yesterday, and they directed me to here. This whole site looks good. Will definately be sticking around. Though possibly not tonight for long as it now 2am lol My name is Dianne by the way, and I am an actor and broadcaster living in the UK.

I can't remember when I first noticed Chris Barrie, whether it was Red Dwarf or Brittas, I THINK it may have been Brittas, but it was years ago!
I only started searching for Brittas sites in January but had no luck. I found the C3BS (Chris Barrie BBS) in January but nothing on Brittas, so I was well chuffed when I found this place!!!!!!!

Welcome IchthusFish, by the way Just a little thing... I 'adopted' (It was given to me) a rabbit on Monday just gone, and I was rather disappointed that it already had a name (Tiggy), but, in my family, we go the whole hog and give our pets middle names. As I named our fish (Who don't have middle names, I'm not that sad.) the names Lister, Rimmer, Kryten and The Cat (R.I.P. Lister), I felt it was only... RIGHT to give this rabbit a 'Brittas' middle name. So, now I'm the proud owner of Tiggy Clover Whitbury... My obsession with Brittas/RD/M.E/Chris is taking over my life, I'll be naming the frogs after different engines from M.E next! And, TM, you're yet to give us your story!

Well first of all welcome to the board to all you newbies! and thanks for all the nice things that you're saying, I really appreciate it!! my story, well... I first got into Brittas, well I can't really remember exactly. I know I watched it from the begining but I don't think that I really got truly into it untill about series four and then it all took off. Especially when I found out I could do an uncanny impression on Brittas that I drove everyone barmy with (and still do but less and less people know what I'm on about!!) I was brought up on Red Dwarf (my mum is also a huge RD fan) and I think that may have been why we watched Brittas in the first place but I just couldn't get enough of it. I was so happy when I heard they were going to be released on DVD as I was finally going to be able to watch it again properly and not just the odd episodes caught on cable. I'm still yet to see the 1996 christmas special that got overtaped before I could watch it so I'm looking forward to seeing it as I'm sure it's the only episode I've not actually seen! It was on an afternoon in the spring just after I had met Chris Barrie that I hit on the idea of doing a website after finding that there was practically nothing on the net about it and I thought it was about time that changed!! Ok I'll stop droning on now... And another thing, you can call me a sad git if you like but I don't care. I have a turquiose polo shirt with the leisure centre logo on it just like the staff do!

Well, I got the shirt from a sports shop and did the logo using a stencil that I made up on the PC and a pot of fabric paint!

Owee! I've always wanted one of them! My story? Well... I first saw Chris Barrie in the Smeg Outs video after pestering my dad for about a year to watch it. (No, Jennifer...you're too young... ) I first watched Red Dwarf properly when I was 10-ish...after seeing the first broadcast of Cassandra in 98... that went on the back burner for a bit because BBC2 stopped showing RD for years. And then I got digital TV! *cheers* So I got into RD properly about 2 years ago...and my obssession with Mister Barrie has only grown and grown! It was only July of this year I watched my first episode of Brittas - when I got to the stage of trusting my instincts so far that I was to spend £20 on a DVD of a programme I'd never seen before! That was series four, and since then I've bought the other 3 series on DVD. I am now a big fan of the entire cast of Brittas...especially Laura! I guess we both have the same kind of outlook. So that's my tale.

I first got into Brittas when series 2 first aired - and for some reason the whole pigeon bit in An Inspector Calls was what stuck in my head at the time. But it was only after watching Red Dwarf that I became a Chris Barrie fan - and put 2 and 2 together, just in time for the 3rd series of Brittas. And I've been a huge fan ever since I haven't been able to find my series 7 vid for a long time though, so you might want to join in praying that one turns up safely, lol.

Well most of you know me from the Chris Barrie board, or the Red Dwarf Slash Soceity on Yahoo!, or from my fics on fanfiction.net, so there's not much to say! My name's Justina but most people refer to me as 'J0ET' (its a zero, not a capital o) or 'the weird one with the Ace Rimmer fetish'. I first got into Brittas when my sister used to watch it while babysitting me (and Colin is Welsh like me!). I started as more of a Colin fan, then I warmed more to Mr Brittas, especially when I got into Red Dwarf. Now I just love the whole damn centre, and I have the bonus of living fairly close to the leisure centre where the outdoor filming was done. So I can go visit whenever I want! Gwahahahaha... *does a dance*

I have vague recollections of 'Opening Day'...but I was three at the time, so I'm going to forgive them their vague-ness ;D First episode of Brittas that I remember properly is 'High Noon'. The scene at the end with the ceiling collapsing is really vivid, for some reason (and no, it's not because I've just watched it ) Anyway, even if I can't remember most of what happened from when I watched first time around, I do remember how much it made me laugh, and as a result, I've loved The Brittas Empire for years - even if my friends think I'm mad for doing so ;D Well, all of my friends except Laura, my partner in crime, who loves Tim and Gavin almost as much as I do

Hello everyone
As the newest recruit to the Empire I thougth I'd just throw in my two pennies worth about why I love all that is Brittas. I rmember watching the Brittas Empire from when I was about 10 or 11 and I loved it right from the start. I can't quite pindown what about it that I specifically love, except that it makes me laugh till I ache, there are lots of lovely touchy feely moments that make me go aaah, and ultimately, despite all the carnage and death that seems to occur in every episode, it is ultimately about people trying to do good for mankind.
Plus it has a gay couple! I don't know what bizarre thing it is in me, but I love any program with gay couples, they make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. On a similar note I cried when Tony and Simon left Eastenders and stopped watching shortly after. Never watched Eastenders since in protest. Not single gay people, they have to be in a couple. Tim and Gavin were always my favourite characters right from the first episode I watched even though I didn't really understand then what being gay meant. And I think that The Brittas Empire should be applauded for not turning them into stereotypical camp characters and making their relationship believable.
I got back into the Brittas Empire in the last few weeks when I realised that that Bravo were showing repeats. I went on the net to look for an episode guide as I had vague memories of some of my favourite Gavin and Tim episodes, notably the one with Gavin's fiance and the one where the urine samples get mixed up (won't say anymore as from what I gather some people on here haven't seen that one and I don't want to spoil the surprise when they do!), and stumbled upon this site. After reading all the pleas for lurkers to sign up I would have felt very heartless not to!
Also have decided that I can't wait to see the aforementioned episode with Gavin's fiance so have ordered series 3 and 4, they should be with me tomorrow, getting very excited now! Why do I have to go to work damn it! Will probably end up ordering the rest of them in about a week too!
